Paris Museum Crawl

If you’ve ever googled if it’s cheaper to get a pass, may it be for transportation or museum, than to pay for each individual ticket I’m sure you’ll come to the conclusion that if you use it for a certain time you will get the most out of it.

In Paris they offer 3 types of museum pass, for 2-4-6 days and they cost EUR 48-62-74, respectively. Say you’re there for 2 days and you’ll visit the Louvre, Versailles, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower (not included), Tuileries Gardens (free), have breakfast, lunch, and dinner those 2 days won’t be enough to cover all of those places (travel time included) so maybe you are better off to (1) purchase tickets individually and/or (2) scale down your itinerary.

To put things in perspective, here’s how I fared when I used it:
Tour duration = 9 days (but I started using my pass on my 3rd day)
Museum Pass = good for 6 days (€74)

Itinerary (these are places I actually went to, there were others I could’ve gone but there wasn’t enough time):
Sainte Chapelle = €10
Cluny = €8
Louvre = €15 (tbh you need a whole day, if not more, to see the entire museum)
Versailles = €18
Orangerie = €9
Orsay = €12
Arc de Triomphe = €9.50 (visit this at night)
Notre-dame = €8.50 (I didn’t get to go to the top but it’s included)
Total = €90

Not bad, eh? But as you can see, I didn’t get to spend enough time in some places. I would suggest (1) a well planned itinerary inclusive of potential travel time, I suggest using google maps for it, (2) check the individual fees, and (3) compare.
