Not all that glitters is gold, but that on top is definitely made out of gold.
Can you imagine, aside from having a humongous palace, having your own lake?
Everything about Paris is symmetry, Versailles is no exception. This was such a long path, I was walking by myself and for a while I thought I was lost. I wasn’t. I even thought to myself, “what if I accidentally went through a portal and I’m transported back to the 16th century?”
Huge palace, check. Huge lake, check. How about your own play village? Check. I would’ve loved to be able to go inside, it’s not allowed though.
Add to the list another lake and a mini tower, because why not?
And your own little cottages with their own vegetable gardens!! Seriously, how can you not think about living in one?
If I may suggest, after starting at the main palace, through the Hall of Mirrors, exit at the back fronting the orchard. There’s a “mini train” that can take you to the gardens and trianon, comes with a fee of course (€7.50) but at least you won’t have to walk. Bear in mind that it’s a HUUUGE area. After exiting at the Grand Trianon wait for the Phébus shuttle to take you back to Versailles Château R.G. train station (€2).
