Why Florence?
Because of the movie Under the Tuscan Sun
How did you get here?
A very short train ride from Rome.
How much did that cost you?
Train fare was EUR17.
Where did you stay?
At Hostel Archi Rossi and they had the BEST breakfast out of all the places I’ve stayed in-they were serving tiramisu for breakfast. Tiramisu!
How many nights did you stay?
Only 3 nights and it was not enough! I hope to visit this place again and this time I’ll make sure I’ll stay longer.
How much was your accommodation?
EUR52 per night.
What did you eat?
Breakfast was included (did I mention tiramisu for breakfast?) and for lunch I ate in one of the restaurants near Boboli gardens (I forgot the name), it was so-so I think I ordered steaks. It wasn’t a pricey place to eat in so I’m pretty sure I spent less than EUR20 also I went on a Tuscany tour so lunch was in an actual vineyard (Tenuta Torciano). I really wanted to go to Mercato (as in the Mercato) for dinner but I got so tired I only managed to go halfway and ate at Gusta Osteria, also less than EUR20
What did you do here?
A LOT. Well, as many as I can in 3 days. It was tiring, for sure, but absolutely worth it. Day 1 was spent walking around Florence, from seeing the Duomo to walking across the bridge to spending the afternoon in Boboli gardens there are tons to do in the city. While the entire 2nd day was spent on a tour visiting the leaning tower of Pisa and touring the countryside.
What’s the one thing you recommend/most memorable moment in this place?
Seeing the Duomo for the first time.
