Why Seefeld?
It was sort of along the way, I didn’t initially include Seefeld in my itinerary primarily because I’ve never heard of Seefeld before but as I was researching my travel plans I found this in one of the travel forums. One piece of observation, the place was full of senior citizens, there was even a place called Seniorenresidenz Seefeld and when googled it’s a nursing home. Which is probably why helicopters parked at lawns shouldn’t come as a surprise (like this one).

How did you get here?
A train ride from Venice to Innsbruck then another short train ride (which turned into a bus ride during the summer) to Seefeld. The ride from Venice to Innsbruck took 5 hours while the bus ride took shorter, I think about an hour but the wait time was a bit longer.
How much did that cost you?
From Venice to Innsbruck it cost EUR39, from Innsbruck to Seefeld it was EUR4. I didn’t buy online and got the ticket to/outside of Seefeld at the station.
Where did you stay?
I have to say, big props to Booking.com for making travel plans hella easy. Can you imagine how difficult and expensive it must be to make travel plans in the 90’s? So anyway, I stayed at this really cozy and family run B&B called Haus Orplid. It was close to the station and (though I didn’t realise it when I arrived) the mountains.

How many nights did you stay?
2 nights
How much was your accommodation?
I was with a friend and we split the cost, EUR120 (plus EUR5.6 city tax). Breakfast was included and it was absolutely lovely. When I think back to my trip I get really annoyed that my phone was stolen on the last day. Maybe it would’ve been better if I lost it during my trip coz I had another phone I could use. Oh well, things happen for a reason. Anyway, I took a photo of the morning’s spread and they had bread, meats, cheese, cereal, crackers, coffee, milk, juice, and they even offered to cook eggs for us. Such a lovely couple who owned that place.
What did you eat?
I only got to eat breakfast once coz on the 2nd morning I had to leave early and went ahead before my friend to catch a train ride to Vienna. I was meeting up a friend there (whom I met in Australia) for lunch before I head out to Salzburg. Can I just say how meta that feels to write it, LOL. Also, we arrived close to supper time so really I only did 2 dinners, 1 breakfast, and 1 lunch meal in Seefeld. We didn’t eat dinner in any of the restaurants and to be honest I think it was because we were saving money, so we ended up buying food from the grocery on the 2nd night. The first night we arrived pretty late and didn’t get to eat (if I’m not mistaken).
What did you do here?
Went up the Rosshütte! There were 3 “stops”, first one was Harmelekopf, then Seefelder Spitze, and Seefelder Joch. I got the adventure package (large) which included all lifts and a piece of cake at the Roshütte restaurant (which we didn’t get to eat coz we went up late).
What’s the one thing you recommend/most memorable moment in this place?
Definitely the Rosshütte, #1 you don’t see that around in the Philippines and the views it offered were just a-mazing. Worth every euro.
