Why Venice?
It just sounded sooo romantic. It’s too bad the Grand Canal was being renovated so I didn’t get to see it in all its glory. I also wanted to see the gondolas and their gondoliers.
How did you get here?
Train ride from Florence with a quick stop in Padua.
How much did that cost you?
From Florence to Padua it costs EUR19, Padua to Venice EUR9.
Where did you stay?
I stayed in this lovely hostel, We_Crociferi, it had 2 separate beds (not bunk beds) they offered breakfast, and though a bit far from the train station it was close by Laguna Veneta.

How many nights did you stay?
2 nights! Again, not enough! I would’ve enjoyed spending another day walking by the canals or having dinner by them. Funny story, I was walking around while checking my map and making sense of all the turns when someone shouted, “Miss, nawawala ka?” Also, as I was having dinner in one of the small restaurants the waiter asked me out LOL! I didn’t go, of course.

How much was your accommodation?
EUR90 which was the most expensive stay out of this trip but I have to say, absolutely worth it.
What did you eat?
Grocery food for the first night, breakfast at the hostel the following day, lunch in one of the restaurants (pretty good! Actually you can’t fault any of the restaurants in Italy), and dinner again in another restaurant.
What did you do here?
I arrived close to 6pm so I didn’t get to do a lot of sightseeing, the following day I went on a Venetian Islands tour, walked around again when I got back
What’s the one thing you recommend/most memorable moment in this place?
Everything about it! From walking by the canals, riding a vaporetto, standing in the middle of Piazza San Marco, going on a day tour in the neighbouring islands, having coffee in Caffè Florian, I loved every second of it. Someday I’ll go back and wouldn’t it be nice if I’ll have someone special with me, just to be totally cliché.
