“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.” When I was planning for my trip I initially intended to spend 4 days in Florence. I’ve gone back and forth in editing my itinerary and settled on spending 3 days instead. Big mistake. Huge. And by mistake, I mean, it was not enough.
I spent my accommodations at Hostel Archi Rossi and if Hostella in Rome offered the best accommodations during my trip, this offered the best breakfast. First, I spent €55 for a two-night stay. I had to sleep in a bunk bed which, at this point, I am not appreciating for personal reasons. Nevertheless, I shared the room with three ladies, we had our own bathroom, and the hostel had enough outdoor space to lounge. What can I say about the food choices? Massive. They had bread, biscuits, tiramisu, rice, sausage, beans, coffee, tea, juice, milk, and so much more! Waking up and having breakfast is the best part of the day. The train to Florence costs €17 and my hostel was really close to the station so I didn’t have to spend for transport, it was only a 10-min walk even going around the city didn’t require transportation.
On this leg of the trip I went on a paid day trip worth €50 to see Tuscany and it was worth every euro. By the time I got back it was late already and didn’t get to see much in Florence. I did manage to have dinner near Mercato Centrale although I would’ve preferred if I was actually in it. Oh well, another ‘until next time’ bucket list. I also went to Boboli Gardens and it’s only now that I remember taking TONS of photos of that place. Damn that person who stole my phone! Entrance to the place was €10 and I suggest going at the start of day so that you have more time to see the place (it is massive) and it won’t get so hot.
Lunch on the first day was at some restaurant I can no longer remember, because stolen phone, but I’m pretty sure it was less than €30, dessert at Gelateria Santa Trinita costs €2.50 for a small cup and it was more than enough for me. For dinner I went to Gusta Osteria and finally had pizza in Italy (Margherita) and wine (Prosecco), for dessert I ordered tiramisu. While the pizza and wine were amazing, dessert was meh. In total, I spent about €20, not bad for al fresco dining in the city of Florence.
Hostel = €55
Tour = €60 (Tuscany tour and Boboli Gardens)
Train = €17
Food = €60 (on other days I bought food from the grocery)
Total = €192 (Php9,792)

xoxo
