Photo Journal: Venice

Out of my entire Euro trip I paid the most for accommodation in Venice and it was worth every euro. It was a school dormitory which probably explains why it was in very good condition. As usual I stayed there for only 3 days and looking back I wish I could’ve stayed longer. The hostel is far from Venezia S. Lucia station, about the same distance from St. Mark’s Square and on my first day I made sure I went there for a walk.

My view while taking a walk from my hostel to the square

What can I say about the square? You can stay in one of the restaurants or even sit in one of the steps with a drink in one hand while you people watch. There are tons of pigeons, tons of people, a band playing, and in August the perfect weather to stay outdoors.

Being that I was on a budget I didn’t eat in one of the restos around the square. I did come back the following day to have coffee in one of their oldest cafés, Caffè Florian

And here’s my teeny tiny cup of drink, if you order by the bar you get lesser prices than if you were to sit in a table. For example, stay at a bar and you get coffee for €6, table will cost you €12.50

I also went in St. Mark’s Basilica, usually I enjoy seeing artifacts etc but I guess I wasn’t feeling it this day and felt sort of meh while going around the place. I was blown away by one of their ceilings, that’s gilded gold btw

There are certain cities I’ve visited that I’d want to visit again, Venice is definitely on that list.
