I’m a girl from the tropics, 26C is a cool weather for me which occurs 3 months out of the year, 33C for the rest. It’s hot, humid, perfect for the beach type of weather. I got promo fares to go to Japan this Feb and mistake #1, I forgot to check the season before buying the ticket. In any case, I packed my thermal wear, my sweaters, and thick jacket.
I arrived in Osaka at night time and I was not prepared, it was hella cold and I was literally shivering when I stepped out. Which made me wonder, can you pack light in the cold weather? More on that later.
My mom and I stayed at a small but accommodating hotel in the heart of Osaka, it was so close to the station and can be easily accessed by foot (if you now the directions).
What can you do in Osaka during winter? The cherry blossoms aren’t in season yet and every so often there was rain. We stayed there for about 3 full days and we basically ended up eating and checking out a few indoor sights.
