Destination: Prague

Why Prague?
It was the furthest I could go, really. I planned on going to Hallstatt while in Salzburg and Cesky Krumlov was the other. But it was raining in Salzburg while I was there, also, I got sick so I didn’t get to do my day trip. And in Prague, getting here was so tiring with all the transfers I lost interest in riding any type of vehicle unless it was an airport transfer.

How did you get here?
They say prepare for the unexpected when going on a trip and this time could not be more true. It was supposed to be an “easy” train ride from Salzburg to Prague but it ended up being one train ride, 1 bus transfer, 2 bus stops, and then one last train ride. This made me lose interest in going to Cesky Krumlov as a day trip.

How much did that cost you?
The train ride was worth 667 CZK (Koruna is their currency as well as euro, converted it’s about EUR25).

Where did you stay?
I stayed at Old Prague House, the place was really nice, airy, clean, and close enough to tram stops.

How many nights did you stay?
3 nights

How much was your accommodation?
While it cost me only EUR60 to stay at Old Prague House, I also lost my phone here when a man came in our room and took it so I’d say my stay was worth EUR60 + price of a brand new iPhone 6 (yes, I’m still bitter about it).

What did you eat?
There was a vegetarian restaurant nearby, nothing spectacular about the food, I also had sausage and beer while walking around, and as part of my bucket list I ate at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Pa-sosy 6-course meal LOL

What did you do here?
I was supposed to visit Cesky Krumlov but after the traumatising trip to Prague, I changed my mind. I took a free city tour, Prague Castle Tour (CZK300), and a trip to the Bone Chapel (CZK700). The city tour is your run of the mill walking tour, I remember the Castle and the Black Tower, panoramic views of Prague, and at Kutna Hora were hundreds of bones filling up the chapel.

What’s the one thing you recommend/most memorable moment in this place?
I’d say seeing the Bone Chapel, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. It was really amazing and creepy to see chandeliers, crucifixes, among others made up of bones.

Bones for days
And mooore bones
