Who:
Friends from work and their partners, Marjo, Kat & Mina, Ray & Wilma, and my usual weekend peeps Red, Roc, and lately, Ahnita.
What:
Diba there’s saying “face your fears, live your dreams”? Well, I didn’t exactly dream of going up high places kasi nga fear but I feel like if you keep doing something you’re scared of eventually it’ll go away, so eto na yun.

We’ve been talking about Masungi for quite some time, initially we had it scheduled in March during the summer season but it fell by the wayside so we ended up losing our spot which is why we ended up during the country’s wet season. Throughout the week leading to the date I was silently praying for the weather to improve, it rained heavily the weeks before. Buti nalang it cooperated while we were there, it did rain for a bit but stopped after 5mins or so and we got to stay in a sort of cave complete with duyan.
Our schedule was at 720am and we were expected to be there 30mins before, the plan was to leave Makati at 5am plus 1.5hrs travel time should get us there by 7am with a short stop sana at a food place for breakfast. Ang ending we left late (6am) and managed to arrive at the place close to 8am. Thankfully we weren’t turned away but we did wait for a couple of minutes before we got to start the trail.
I had one of the best experiences in my life as of this writing on that trip and it also helped that I was surrounded by people who I found fun to hang out with and I’m fond of. I truly didn’t expect to enjoy the rope trail that much because they’re suspended in air but I did. Yes may heights, yes nakakatakot, yes I still have my fear but I think I’ve learned to just do it; not to just blindly do it but to believe that I can and then to just do it.
