Who:
Red and Roc. I’m seriously trying my best not to 3rd wheel as much LOL.
What:
My goodness, I’ll start by saying I’m not a fan of loooong travel, drives to be specific. Since I got my matic car the farthest I drove to is Las Casas in Bataan which was a 3 hour drive (as I write it parang ang short drive lang pala haha!). This trip was a 6 hour drive, six?! I got so restless I fell asleep most of the time, Red’s driving didn’t help either! He can be such a maniac behind the wheel (you know you do, bee. In case you get to read this at some point LOL).
Anyhoot, about Bolinao, Red and Roc have been here before so they’re a bit familiar with the place, and my first time. We stayed at German’s Place booked via Airbnb and the one-night stay cost Php1700. Our place of stay was at an actual kubo, no air-con which got particularly tough because it was so hot during the day although it did rain (hard) at night so it got pretty cool. We were literally surrounded by nature and as with trees, comes the bugs. In spite of the lack of modern amenities, the toilet was shared outside, that was one of my deepest sleep in quite a while.

We left Makati around 530am (yes, the original plan was to leave at 4am) and arrived at our accommodation close to 1pm. After changing we went out to have lunch at Sungayan Grill and ate at a rented floating barge (I paid Php600 for my share so I suppose that’s Php1800 for the 3 of us). We then went to Patar Beach, a public one, stayed there for the rest of the day, and had dinner there as well. I don’t know if I was just hungry but that was some really good pork sinigang and grilled pork liempo! I salivate just thinking about it. The following morning we set out early to go to Bolinao falls but because of last night’s weather it wasn’t a pretty sight. The water was murky and raging, I didn’t even get a good photo.

By the time I got home it was already close to 11pm and though I’m not too eager to go on a similar road trip any time soon, I did think of going back to 100 islands in the future. The far future.
