“Life is short.
Take the trip.
Buy the shoes.
Eat the cake.”
I think of Barcelona and I’m only reminded of all the food I ate, from the paella, to the cheese, it’s safe to say I went on a food tour during this leg and I don’t even regret it. There are tons of places to eat in this city and I’m sure not all of them are great but the ones we went to were pretty good. On our first night we went to a tapas bar near our hostel called La Pepita, goes without saying that we had tapas and sangria. I only drank 1 glass and I went back tipsy LOL! As a friend once called me, I am a cheap drunk. As for the tapas, they were just fantastic, I especially loved the squid one. Also a plus, we met 2 Pinoys working at the bar! One was a girl, the other a boy, they weren’t born in Barcelona and migrated during their teens.
The next couple of days were such a blur, if I’m being honest mej food coma kasi we ate most of the time. If there’s a must-place to visit it would be La Boqueria, it’s a food market and they had paella, jamon, tapas, sangria, churros, etc etc. Yung paella nila didn’t live up to my expectations, it was really salty and I bought it 3 times! Although the one time we had it tasted just right but when we went back the next day it was salty again. The jamon is on point though, all the time, combine it with Manchego cheese and you’re golden.
I’m not a drinker at all and so the sangria was just ok, I suppose you drink for the experience although in Sevilla while having tapas for dinner I had white wine and I downed it like it was juice. The churros are a different thing all together, you go to a different city and you get a different variation of a churro. Interestingly, the churros that we have here don’t look anything like what we had, granted we didn’t get to eat in all of the places. Pero, what went well with the churros? Their hot chocolate, masarap kahit saan kami pumunta!
