Camiguin

“Take only memories, leave only footprints”

I have never missed a flight. Until this trip where not only did I leave for the airport later than usual, when I missed the flight I just went and book the next available one. The fact that my best friend was with me probably made things lighter so instead of spending 4 days we only ended up spending about 2 full days in Camiguin.

We didn’t want to go home (I took a vacation leave) so we ended up doing 1 night staycation at Conrad Hotel (such a nice place) before flying out the next day.

Camiguin is nothing like Boracay, Cebu, or El Nido. It is a small town, very laid back which I really appreciate, and it feels like everyone knows every body. Yes, it’s a romantic spot (damn you, couples) but it’s a good place for solo travellers and third-wheelers too (ahem).

We stayed at Somewhere Else (yes, that’s the actual name) and the owner was kind enough to only charge us for the time we actually stayed there, their accommodation, food, amenities made the deal even better. There’s an Italian place in front of the airport that served good food at affordable prices, definitely a highlight of our trip.

As we were about to leave for the airport to fly back to Manila I couldn’t help but look forward to our next visit. Camiguin is truly an island born of fire, it’ll mesmerise you the minute you step off the tarmac.
