“Collect moments, not things.”
I lost my photos. By accident, of course. Ugh. I have all my travel photos in my external hard drive, brought it with me when I went out of the country and when I came back my laptop can’t “find” my drive. It’s somewhat comical because this is the 2nd time I “lost” travel photos, first time was while I was sleeping at a hostel and someone took my phone, and this makes two. Come to think of it, I take tons of photos but really manage to post one or two, or five so what’s the point of keeping hundreds? LOL.
Anyway, earlier this year I went on a work trip to Auckland, I didn’t get to see much of the place but I managed a half-day tour right before I left. It’s quite a serene place to visit especially the mountainside and the people are kind and pleasant. I happen to be there soon after a shooting incident and our tour guide was pretty shaken about it, same goes for the entire nation I’m sure. But what I appreciated more was the reverence people showed towards Maōri culture and how we could all learn from it.
Will I visit Auckland again? If it’s for a work trip, most definitely but for vacation probably not only because there are other places I’d rather see or visit again.
