2022!! Today officially marks the first day of the year and just like in previous new years we make our resolutions, look back at the past 365 (366 if it’s a leap year) days, say our gratitude, and start the year a little bit more hopeful than the last. In 2021 I feel like I’ve done all of those almost every month, more so in the last quarter after the accident.
Years from now when I’m much older I hope I’m reminded how great 2021 has been, how great my life has been going. Sometimes when we’re too focused on the minutia of life’s challenges we forget the good and great things that we take for granted.
There are 2 types of people in the world, people who thrive in group energy, and people who prefer the stillness of being alone. I’m the latter and I think it makes me cherish the countable relationships that I have. I am so grateful for being born into my family and for having my parents and my brother. He’s now in another country starting a new chapter in his life and I am so excited for him. I’m blessed to have found friendships in my life that I can count on through thick and thin, they are the family I choose to have. Those are my core, everything else makes things better, good or bad.
I hope this year keeps me grateful and hopeful. Also, I love my cats.
